Not playing nice would include commandeering more than your fair share of the play area.
Ooh, it’s like a “Slubgob Wide”. Well, ok not really – very different character and construction. I have been staring through the lens of your previous work, still over here trying to string together a script variant with +1 brick x-height, so...
I should just publish it as is – maybe, in turn, you will riff off it and improve it further : ) If you do, please be at least as free and severe in modifying it as I was. Maybe you can bring it to a point where it deserves a complete character set, if that’s possible.
Which, IMHO, this one here richly deserves. There’s a certain venerable flavor similar to typerider’s Peghole Wide with the low resolution, curvaceousness and squared counters. But as usual you bring that monk-like calligraphic bent to the table.
Perhaps you could give the o and g the same counter shape as the ps and qs?
I just love the x. It’s really got it going on. I can see it. I can’t say precisely what it is. But I want to see more of it.
The glittering tracks of this muse dancing about your work – intaglioism it’s been called. More and more it’s seeming like you could take the jewels of these modular and grid-based explorations and break out of the box to give full life to the typefaces alluded to here in bits and pieces. Sure is an intimidating world of freedom, pen sculpting ink (or vectors or whatnot), but I can’t ever shake that feeling upon witnessing this intaglioism at play that Swing sure aint no dang Cartesian thing!
