Dingbat of the OCP logos from the "RoboCop" movies: RoboCop (1987), Robocop 2 (1990) & RoboCop 3 (1993). Final version. Now movie accurate, thanks to the new "Make Composite" function in FontStruct 2.0. For outline version of the RoboCop typeface, see the "Alex Murphy Outline" font; for solid version of the RoboCop typeface, see the "Alex Murphy Solid" font.

A long time in coming...

My initial plan was to include the original OCP logo in the "Alex Murphy" font in the @ symbol position, but it threw off the spacing (i.e., the ding was too darn large when compared to the other characters).

Next, I put the ding into its own font, but unbeknownst to me, FontStruct won't allow fonts with only one character to be Shared and/or turn up in Gallery Searches -- with a single glyph, the program determines it to be a test or a doodle instead.

So, to add a few more glyphs, I added the OCP logos from the other two movies and simply put in 1-pixel dots to fill out the rest of the upper-case so that FontStruct would properly recognize it.

According to Rob, in order to appear in the gallery a FontStruction needs to have at least 11 glyphs.

Final version. Now movie accurate, thanks to the "Make Composite" function in FontStruct 2.0 for two crucial bricks... Thanks, Rob and the FontStruct team!

Here's a slightly better color scheme I came up with 5½ years ago...

I like the work but I like your consistency and dedication and honing of the craft way more. I don't even remember the fonts I've done let alone remember to go back and improve them when possible.

The other day when Patrick (redux) posted that he later realized that that font was one he had previously done already was amazing because if I had his 1000+ fonts, I would have made that mistake 900 fonts ago...and many times since.

You guys are just impressive all around. Thank you for being here.

@thalamic - You make me blush, my friend.  Thank you for the kind words.  Honestly, I want to thank FontStructors like yourself who create wholly new designs for all to enjoy  (and so many of them!) while you continue to push FontStruct to its limits.  You creativity is overflowing, while mine is a mere drip.  Thank YOU for being here.  :^)
