This bitmap font is based on little crosses that are arranged on a 2x2 pixel grid. Although the font size is 36px I had the best results with 128px font size in a PS/72dpi doc.

I must say I'm a little confused. Your user name is the same as the original FontStruction by maxxter.
Comment by Stephen Coles (Stewf) 22nd july 2008
Stewf, sorry for the confusion I caused. I started constructing this font on the maxxter account which was actually planed for trying out FontStruct but not for publishing my fontstructions. That's the reason why I cloned it yesterday to my current (this) account where I will keep on developing it. I left a note in the description for this font on the maxxter account. (Da hab ich mir ja ein Ei gelegt, mit meinen 2 Accounts...)

Ahh, good. I'm glad it's the same author then. We can delete the other account if you wish.

Yes, that would be great. I didn't find an option to do that.

Isn't it wonderful how suggestible FontStruct can be made to behave. Love it.

Sehr schön.
How about extending the family? Italics maybe?
Comment by sebastianberns 19th september 2009
@Sebastianberns: Gute Idee!

Bold?
Comment by sebastianberns 19th september 2009
@sebastianberns I like both ideas, especially the italics. Whenever I find time currently I try to adjust the kerning at the moment but as soon as I am finished with that I think I will start working on an italic style.

I have edited the font a lot lately, cleaned it up, added/changed some characters and most of all tried to enhance legibility / kerning so I can get started with extending it to a family. Here is some sample text with the base font:
