Originally designed in June 2009.
Inspired by a font used in the Official Playstation Magazine in 2006.
I have tried to find out its name, but had no success. Does anyone have any ideas?
I wanted to buy it to use on a job, but having no joy, I had to create it myself.
The lower case is completely new.
Since first releasing this font to the public. The name of the Original font that my Upper Case is based on has finally been found, Yippee, it's called Community Service and is $89 (for several weights) from www.youworkforthem.com Many thanks to will.i.um for his detective skills. A true Ninja is he, and a happier bunny am.i.

I designed this font way back in June 2009, and I've kept it away from public viewing, as I wanted to wait to see if the original font (it was based on) could be found.

The lower case is completely new.
The upper case is based on a Font that was used by the Playstation The Official Magazine in 2006.

I have tried to find out its name, but had no success. Even asked the guys at Typophile. Anyone any ideas?

I wanted to buy it to use on a design job, so having no joy, I had to create it myself.

Also it's kind of been pushed into release by the showing of Temptation 1 who also seems to have had the same problems I encountered.

All brutally honest opinions welcomed.

Brutally Honest Opinion Numéro Deux: Maybe the lowercase y could be formed by modifying the lowercase q for the 'in diagonal we trust' look.

Great alternates. I like the alternate 'K' and the two for lowercase a.

I thought the 8 seemed familiar.

Anyway, this brilliant. The lowercase is my favorite.

I like the alternate y where the the diagonal is disconnected.

I felt rather positive the original was a YouWorkForThem design. That or maybe it came from Typodermic, but no Ray Larabie’s work has far too much warmth. Even his more futuristic faces. Well, skim over the answer on YWFT did I ever. A couple times, what with its itty-bitty hairline lowercase sample and all.

So, I politely contacted Alejandro Chavetta via his Behance portfolio. Would he reveal the answer? Of anyone, as the former Associate Art Director for OPM, he should know...especially if it was custom. Yet another YWFT face even name-drops the magazine, detailing how they both used and customized Alloy for display purposes. Hmm.

Knowing I was hot, still thinking it a dead end, I simply prayed Alejandro had the time to reply. And what a true gentleman! He got back to me in a matter of hours, bless his art.

Now – without further ado – the family you are looking for: community service.

Thank you so very much for going out of your way to try to find the answer. However the final link goes to a page with "WOOPS" on it. Is that intentional? Should I be doing Community Service for my work? I'm confused!

I actually emailed PS Magazine back in June asking them if they knew what it was called. I didn't get a reply, off any of the design/editorial team.
I really like the other fonts you've found, they have the same feel.

I know, funny name, right? I must’ve bungled that link, though – not trying to give you the run around, honest! Let’s try again, as I found it none too easy to find simply browsing YWFT by sight (really it was the first place I thought to look considering the difficulty you had, but I breezed right past the tiny sample on my own free-ranging goose chase).

Contacting the magazine directly seems completely logical in a perfect world. I have a sense that if Alejandro still worked at the Official Playstation Magazine, he would have replied in a timely manner. And I can’t even say if they still use the same graphic libraries as before (perhaps they lost the thread of your question before finding out themselves).

I did find out in my research that the entire staff is different from the era you were asking about. That was a big clue sending me in the direction of the true hero of the hour, an ex-staff member. Also the YWFT google search result that linked to Alloy lead me back to my initial hunch (still no luck browsing that time, though :P).

All these shreds of evidence indicated to me that the art director really had it together. When I searched with that in mind, I found Alejandro’s portfolio, sample spreads (using the font prominently), and his contact link. I say all this again just to clarify even more the following point: In my blindness, it was his generosity that uncovered the solution and I think he’s a really great guy for it.

Sherlock Holmes would be proud of your skills.
I notice his lowercase is very different from mine. It's the same height as the upper - not sure if I like it. Plus a few upper case ones slightly differ as well, mainly 'Q', but who cares I'm so pleased you've found it. Plus there's loads of different weights, oh joy, big smile on my face.

I'll change the Description, and inform the slack lot on Typophile that we have a result.

Cheers guys, I think bringing the Original brilliant font to everyone's attention is all I could possibly hope to achieve with releasing my version.
I've already designed NCD PSMagazine 3 which looks completely unique, and could get a TP. So long as one in the family gets a TP, I'm cool with that.

I'm still buzzin on the fact that the font "Community Service" has finally been found by Will.i.um. That was well worth forsaking the TP any day.

You being God of the diagonal, if there is a combination of glyths (from my alternatives) you'd like me to do for you, I'd be more than happy to oblige. I find there's nothing more frustrating than liking a font, but one or two letters you'd like to see changed. NCD PSMagazine T version is very doable.

I have been following this fantastic detective story and just realised, I hadn't made any comment.

First rate work on the l/c. I agree with Aphoria about the alternate y.

Excellent detective work by will.i.ૐ and a happy ending when you found the font you wanted.

Very, but very nice.
