This is very nice...but there seems to always be a feeling that some letters were more worked than others, guess that’s the consequence from mixing such different families.

Love the a and y.

Thanks guys. This one was definitely more work than any of my other fonts!

@jmarquez
Yeah, it is a tough mix. I tried throwing in the alternates to fix some troublesome words. Are there any glyphs you think need to be redone or need alternates?

@aphoria
Me too :) I'm rather proud of the g as well. I'm on the fence about the e and s though...

Never mind what I said before!
This is a mix family font so there are bound to be diferences, changes will only make it look to much as Helvetica or to much as Times. Diferent/mixed isn't always bad.

ps: yes the "g" is a climax.

Maybe do something to the e.

I like the s though.

I was confused for second when I tried the USER INPUT option. All of you letters are lc, but they are on the uc glyphs.

I knew it would start to grow on you :)

Some letters are way out there like the v, w, x, and z which look nothing like Times or Helvetica. I didn't actually look at the fonts except on the a, b, and g...the rest was inspired by those.

Fixed the e up a bit and I'm really happy with the s now.

I could switch the default letters to the lowercase but it just bugs me to see "fjktz" first in the preview. Whatever happened to the idea for Aa, Bb, Cc?

How do you add alternate letters (love the font, by the way)?

emepar7

Thanks jhejka! The default letters are on the uppercase, the alternates are on the lowercase. So to write "franz kafka" like in the sample type "FRANZ KAfkA"

I don't know Emepar. . .I think you better check the birth certificate again. Neither TNR nor Helvetica have those wonderful ball terminals. Could there be a mysterious third party?

lol, The cat's almost out of the bag now!
Stay tuned for the next episode of "Fonts of our lives" xD

You caught me! The true father is...TNR's brother, TNR Bold.
Oh and my imagination, I just like the name :)

Ah. Well at least they kept it in the family.

My computer keeps saying the files not a font :(

I absolutely love the look of it.

Thanks man!

Hmm...I'm guessing you're on Windows. Try the TrueType Font directions here: http://www.myfonts.com/support/help_install_win.html

Nice, emepar. I like the swashing descenders. I would try changing all horizontal bars to a height of 2 dots. The design seems original enough to merit an unique name of its own.

Thanks geneus1. I've thickened the crossbar on the e. I tried messing with the a but it looked off. Hah I wish I could think of one! It seems all my creativity went into the design...

I have to learn to be more descriptive to clarify what I mean. I think the a looks fine. Things to try: the top of the e can be thinned out to match the top of the g. The horizontal bars that can also be thinned are on the f, and t, as well as the horizontal lines on the z. I hope that helps.

There are some really interesting exotic names that can be extracted from the Lorem Ipsum text.

Thanks for the tips! The e looks much better now. I will keep working on the others...
