3x5(-based)*, you're right, that's what today's novices / players / retro nostalgics will remember, all the same, IMO. Worse/better, they might prefer your 5-dot wide M/W letters than your other narrower designs on a strict basis.
Good job at adding the diacritics (allowed by the much larger matrix), this is rather rare, and better than most trials we are submitted in general, in this difficult field of low-res pixel fonts.
* The exact (deceptive) tag would then be: 3x5.
