This is basically a bolder version of yours by going to Menu > View > Filters and set it to 1.5 in Horizontal and vertical brick size.
So it doesn't appear as a clone, they've cloned yours, then copied and pasted over the letters into a new file.
Unfortunately as nice as it is to learn techniques from cloning, there is always someone who abuses the system and doesn't give any credit to the original designer. We all learn from copying, but please always try to give credit to your influences.
Do you think they could have been influenced by the other font, or is this style pretty common?
I guess it is bound to happen from time to time when we explore pixel typefaces with similar "set rules"
