Your solid versions reveal a slight stress in the letter shapes (top-right and bottom-left corners have more 'mass') – something I had not noticed in the original design.Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000Comment from SquarePeghttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10360http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10360Thanks, Gustavo. <strike>When you say stress, do you mean the slightly thicker lines that give the illusion of volume in the original FontStructions?</strike> I couldn't see the stress in my own sample, but it's definitely visible in the Fontstruct-generated sample. I suppose it's a result of adding the shadow/volume of the original drawings to the body of each character... I actually considered making a highlight version in which white lines would be drawn along the edges that are prolonged with a shadow. It would look something like this: <br /><img src="/showings/show/1557" alt="" />Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000Comment from gferreira_adminhttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10538http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10538Congratulations! FontStruct Staff have deemed your FontStruction worthy of special mention. “Chocobot Dark Solid” is now a Top Pick.Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000Comment from funk_kinghttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10567http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10567congrats on the top picks dude. that's like a triple header :) thanks for sharing this sweet tasty suite :)Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000Comment from SquarePeghttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10574http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10574Thanks, funk_king. Truthfully, all I did was take Lex's FontStructions and fill in the insides of the existing shapes! :-)Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000Comment from LexKominekhttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10578http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10578The "stress" comes from my optical correction for the shadows in the original stacked font. Basically I started with five different "tiles" - one with a square on the top layer, and four with triangles in the top layer (for each corner angle). I then built the lower two layers around that. So the distortion on the dark layer is more pronounced, since it is a shadow surrounding a shadow, surrounding a shadow. I hope this makes sense :-)Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000Comment from LexKominekhttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10579http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10579Ricardo - I like your highlight version. Are you going to take a stab at it, or should I? :-)Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000Comment from SquarePeghttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10580http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10580I was hoping you'd ask, Lex! I am honored, and would love to give it a try. :-) I don't want to give the highlight versions mile-long names, though... How does "Chocobot Dark Highlight" sound to you?Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000Comment from LexKominekhttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10583http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10583That's probably what I would have called it anyway :-)Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000Comment from SquarePeghttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10584http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/204715#10584Okay then!
