Description:
Created 23rd July 2009. Originally based on teeth braces, then it turned into the internally reinforced steel bars in concrete pillars.
That are used in the construction industry to help support buildings secondary flooring and roofs.
Having helped my father build several houses as a young man, making this font resurrected many 'back breaking' days of shoveling cement into wooden jibs then dropping in the reinforced steel....!
It is certainly a lot easier designing a font.
All comments and feedback appreciated.

Chunkylicious :-)

I love the proportions.

Looks sturdy. When I first saw it, the inline connecting braces kind of reminded me of this one.

Thanks Guys. Much appreciated.
@ Geneus. Yeh I can see a bit of a similarity but I'd never seen your font before. I originally designed mine as a stencil of rounded blobs. It initially looked too abstract and unreadable, so I then added a connecting line of blocks. It reminded me of teeth braces. I then developed NCD Reinforcia from that.

High-quality work, as always. Solid ultra black letters with great consistency in the details, plus an extended latin character set.

I find the 4 a little bit strange, and @ © ® a bit too squary.

a very rugged and good-looking macho font :)

@ Gustavo
Thanks for the TP. Big smile on my face.
Excellent comment. Tweaked the 4, and @ © ® symbols. Hope they are better.
Could you add the Category as Display, Sans Serif. Thanks

Glad to hear that. :-)

I have some more comments on the diacritics:

Maybe you could experiment with making solid, one-part accents. I think some of the current two-part designs look too much like a dieresis. I find acute and grave the most problematic.

I also suggest you to make the diacritics in ď ľ ŀ ť ʼn slightly lighter/narrower. These glyphs should appear integrated into the word shapes, without breaking the reading flow.

PS: Cool sample!

We think alike. I started with the one part accents, but the colour looked wrong, I'll give it another go.
Your spot on about the diacritics in ď ľ ŀ ť ʼn. With never using them in my own language it's hard to know what looks right, but I thought they looked too heavy as well. Thanks, I'll amend them.

Thanks to Gustavo.
Amended all diacritics, made them more readable and friendly.

Are you taking Fontstruct steroids Nippa? You're finding the back of the net with every shot! This is everything I want in a fontstruction. It's contemporary, usable, and fully realized. All killer no filler.

@ Afrojet. Thanks mate, I gotta get my fix everyday, properly pumped! Ha ha. I've even bought Fontlab Studio 5 now. The box has been well and truly opened.... just gotta learn to use it!! The world and oyster spring to mind.

@jmarquez. Mr Marquez thanks very much your work is superb, very usable. I only wish you'd add the Upper Case to some of your text based stuff. Eagerly awaiting the various weights for Comitto. :-)
